Although I have to say I'm pretty excited to try something quite diff in that system with the Steinway Lyngdorf. If I'd have gone with another MX, and a mix of the same baby Revels I use as rears for the front channels, I reckon I'd forever be comparing it to the bigger system. Denon, Marantz, etc are much larger and more profitable companies. If you did a little research you would realize they share quite a bit between each other. The McIntosh blu ray transport is the same used in the Denon (the Denon cost a few thousand less) look closer at the specs between the Denon AVP and MX-152, they are damn near identical but I'll bet your 'salesman' say's they are completely different beasts right. And to say a $15k processor uses more expensive DACs, video processors, etc is ridiculous.

How many companies do you think manufacture video processor and DAC's which are then sold and used in AVR and processors. If you want to spend $12k on a processor, that's fine but don't tell someone that spends $3 or $4,000 that his processor cant compete with yours. I certainly hope you keep your MX-152 for the next 12 years (your spending $1,000 per year to enjoy it) While the person paying less has paid his off in less time and able to buy 3 or 4 more in the same 12 years with newer technology and upgraded DAC's and processors.
